Piliakalnis mound

Piliakalnis mound

The mound has sloping sides, only the slope facing the lake is quite steep and approximately 8 metres high. The top of the mound is not clearly defined and merges with the sloping sides. It is oval in shape and oblong to the north-western and southeastern direction. The mound has been disrupted by tilling and starts to accrete. In 2003, a stone monument was erected on the top of the mound. The mound was explored by the Lithuanian Institute of History in 1969, and by Scientific Methodological Board in 1974. The mound dates back to the early first millenium.
